In the heart of the Coonawarra terra rossa strip, the winery and Cellar Door are situated among the Leconfield vineyards, 4km north of Penola on the Riddoch Highway. Opened in July 2020 the new Cellar Door retains the charm of Sydney’s original building while adding a fresh modern feel with an inviting space for enjoying a glass of wine and regional produce. Built in 1974 by Sydney Hamilton, the limestone winery building has a barrel storage of 2000 barrels, predominantly sourced from France. Situated 400km south of Adelaide, and west of Melbourne we are approximately a 4-hour drive from each city.
We offer a range of Wine Flights so you can discover the essence of Leconfield Coonawarra Wines. Choose from our pre-selected Wine Flights or select your own wines from our tasting list. Our Wine Flights are poured for you at the table so you can sit back and truly explore your chosen wines. Each tasting glass is filled with a 30mL pour making your Flight the equivalent of one standard drink. Wine Flights are $15 per person, redeemable on two bottle purchases. Simply select what you would like, take your items up to the counter and we will organise the rest for you. Each item is individually priced. Relax in front of the fire or enjoy a picnic on our lawns. Items are also available to take away so you can enjoy them back at home or in your BnB.
